Day 5

The last couple days have been difficult. Alot of bladder pain as well as joint pain. Also, I recently started having pain in my tooth. So I have just about covered the entire body. It is a wonder how I manage to get up out of bed sometimes. I know there is a chance I got the placebo so I am keeping that in mind. Also, I am taking antibiotics for the first time since I was diagnosed with IC so my bladder may be having a bad reaction to that.
Today I felt pretty good until about 2 oclock. I started feeling sluggish and pain started increasing. I sat down for a minute and immediately realized I may have "over did it" cleaning the house.. The pain started gaining momentum and by 4 o'clock I was in bed. Luckily Jeremiah (my son) was home and able to help with Brooklyn. The rest of the evening was difficult. Brian is in Oakland for the week working so I am on my own. Right after Brooklyn went to bed I cleaned up and went to bed.

Pain Level: 4-6
Energy Level: Low
Night time bathroom trips: 0
Diet: Stayed on IC diet with the exception of a choc. chip cookie =) (it was soooo yummy)

Day 1

June 2, 2011
I had my first injection of Humira. I am so happy and excited to have the opportunity to be involved in this new research study. I met Dr. Bosch and Carol for the first time on Tues. WOW! How refreshing... They had so much empathy. They really knew what they were talking about. They cared about me and wanted to help IC patients in general. It also helped that Carol, the research director was an IC sufferer herself. The first appointment went smooth. I filled out some paper work, had my blood drawn and got a TB test. Carol explained everything so well and walked me through everything step by step so I knew exactly what was happening and why. The study will last 12 weeks. I will be keeping a blog of my experiences and hope that others will find the information useful.
Immediately following my appt. I took my daughter to get some pancakes at a local restaurant that Carol recommended. Not sure if it was due to stress or the meds or maybe both but after I ordered my food I had to make a rush to the restroom. I have IBS but usually I have issues after I eat. My stomach was so upset that I had to ask the waitress to make our food to go. I went home and took a nap and when I woke up felt much better. The rest of the day I felt ok. A slight headache and overall tired but other then that no big changes.
